- wife Anna, works for Europe Direct, a free service which offers information on all sorts of subjects related to the EU including your rights and opportunities as an EU citizen and how to take advantage of them.
-son Thomas is Defence Editor of the the Sun newspaper
- daughter Daisy is an associate producer for a television documentary company in London, specialising in China.She also writes a monthly article for Hong Kong Tatler
