The East Midlands is the fourth largest region in England, with a population of over four million people and covering an area of over 15 thousand square metres. Its main cities are Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Nottingham and Northampton. Almost half of the population lives in rural areas. There are six MEPs representing the East Midlands in Brussels, myself for the Liberal Democrats, Glenis Willmott for Labour, Chris Heaton Harris and Roger Helmer for the Conservatives, Robert Kilroy-Silk (Independent) and Derek Clark for the UK Independence Party.
