We stand up for the individual, for fundamental human rights, for freedom, for democracy...

We want to build a liberal alternative in the centre, between the right and the left. The Right is paternalist. They think they know what is best for you because of their superior wealth or gifts. The Left is socialist. They think that the government knows better than the individual what is good for you.

Lib Dems are part of a wide European family of Liberal parties, who

- are liberal economically, believing in free markets
- are libertarian, believing in individual rights
- have liberal values, not being doctrinarian
